My career began as a firefighter, paramedic, and disaster manager—professions where lives depend on recognizing when a system is damaged, when it is about to fail, and how to design a creative solution in the moment. In these environments, wrong choices can be fatal and failure is not an option. Thousands of incident iterations have sharpened my ability to think critically under pressure, communicate clearly, and define problems with precision. These lessons translate directly into entrepreneurship and social impact: the same skills that save lives also drive innovation. As a serial and social entrepreneur, I build organizations and projects that solve complex problems across disaster health, global security, and technological innovation. My approach is grounded in creativity, systems thinking, and impact, always seeking ways to reduce risks, enhance resilience, and empower people.

Polymath Left Brain As General Secretary of WADEM Europe, I lead the regional branch of a global organization advancing evidence-based emergency and disaster medicine. With 20+ years in public safety, disaster medicine, and global security, I bring deep expertise in preparedness, planning, and crisis response. I hold a Master of Arts in Security Studies from the Naval Postgraduate School, where I explored identity and technology in conflict, and a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical Care from Loma Linda University, where I received the Faculty Award. I am also a diver, boater, commercial pilot, systems theorist and published researcher. Right Brain Parallel to science and public safety, I am an artist and philosopher, driven by a fascination with the human condition. Through photography, sculpture, and poetry, I explore themes of displacement, resilience, and adaptation, while uniting diverse teams of artists, musicians, and writers to create projects of human and social significance.

Multicultural Lens Having lived and worked in the U.S., Germany, Austria, France, and Italy, and speaking several languages, I bring a culturally competent and sensitive approach to leadership and innovation. Living across diverse societies teaches that success comes from suspending biases and seeing challenges from many perspectives.

Today I focus on bridging disaster medicine, global health, and technology through research and entrepreneurship, advancing international collaboration, and tackling the wicked problems of our time with both scientific rigor and creativity.
