I am an Emergency Medicine physician in the UK NHS and a disaster medicine scholar, with more than a decade of frontline and academic experience across Europe, the Middle East, and South America. My work sits at the intersection of emergency care, humanitarian response, and health security, focusing on scalable, resilient systems that work under pressure. In the UK, I practice as a senior Emergency Medicine doctor at Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, delivering Emergency Specialist level care in a high-volume emergency department. My day-to-day work spans major trauma, time-critical resuscitation, complex medical and surgical emergencies, and prehospital interfaces. I am deeply engaged in clinical governance, education, and simulation-based training, with a particular focus on damage control resuscitation (DCR) and high-acuity decision-making. Since 2014, I have maintained an ongoing, long-term commitment to Ukraine, working with civilian and defense health partners on prehospital care, trauma systems, and DCR in the context of large-scale combat operations. This includes support to point-of-injury care, Role 1 stabilization, and forward surgical elements, as well as blood-based resuscitation concepts, medevac pathways, and mass-casualty readiness. My work combines hands-on clinical support, curriculum development, and mentoring of Ukrainian teams. and colleagues. Academically, I hold a PhD in Hygiene and Epidemiology (Disaster Medicine) from Charles University in Prague and serve as senior faculty at the College of Remote and Offshore Medicine (CoROM). I advise and consult international organizations, NGOs, and medical assistance providers on medical readiness, risk mitigation, and the integration of clinical, operational, and security frameworks, with contributions to NATO-aligned initiatives, OSCE mission health governance, and telemedicine system design. I actively publish and speak on emergency medicine, disaster medicine, blood-based resuscitation, and innovation in operational care, connecting practice from the UK resus bay to stabilization points and frontline systems in Ukraine.
